Matthew 9:18-26
While Jesus was speaking, an official came forward, knelt down before him, and said,"My daughter has just died. But come, lay your hand on her, and she will live."Jesus rose and followed him, and so did his disciples.
A woman suffering hemorrhages for twelve years came up behind himand touched the tassel on his cloak. She said to herself, "If only I can touch his cloak, I shall be cured."Jesus turned around and saw her, and said,"Courage, daughter! Your faith has saved you."And from that hour the woman was cured.
When Jesus arrived at the official's houseand saw the flute players and the crowd who were making a commotion, he said, "Go away! The girl is not dead but sleeping."And they ridiculed him. When the crowd was put out, he came and took her by the hand, and the little girl arose. And news of this spread throughout all that land.

These events can seem so impossible that it's hard to relate to them. My daughter didn't just die, I haven't had hemorrhages for 12 years, and Jesus isn't walking around today to make those problems go away.
But ... what we have here are the stories of two people who submitted themselves humbly to their savior in confidence, and brought their needs to Him. Sometimes we can make faith so complicated that we forget that at it's core, there is a person -- Jesus -- on the other side of this relationship, and that person has told us that we can come to Him for anything.
We don't have Jesus physically walking around with us, like these two did. That said, it's easier for us now than it was for these two, because we don't have to fight the crowds to get even a glimpse of Him. He is present for us always. All we need to do is call on Him. They more we call on Him, and the more we explore just who this person is, the more our faith grows, and the more confidence we have in Him.
